The Chicago Police Department will conduct a Roadside Safety Check in the Jefferson Park (16th) District at 5900 W. Irving Park Rd. The Roadside Safety Check will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, September
19th, 2015.

Commercial burglaries have occurred in District 024 where unknown offender(s) gained entry by throwing a rock or brick through the front or side door window of the establishment to gain entry. The offenders(s) then pry open the cash register and stole cash. In one incident the register was also taken and in another incident a Plexiglas cabinet was forced open.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 009 th District (Deering) of theft incidents during the month of  August/September. In these incidents, offender(s) break the windows of out vehicles that are parked and personal items are taken from the unattended vehicles.

On September 16, 2015 at approximately 8:40 a.m., a juvenile victim was approached by a male offender in the vicinity of the 9400 block of South Stony Island Ave., while waiting for the bus. The offender motioned the victim to come to his vehicle while smiling. The victim shook her head indicating no and boarded the bus. After reaching her destination in the 9500 block of S. Michigan Ave., she observed the same vehicle as she walked northbound on Michigan Ave., from 95th St. When she reached the middle of the block, the offender appeared behind her yelling “come here”. The victim ran to school and reported the incident to police.

On September 15, 2015, officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 2400 block of E. 83rd St. at approximately 10:15 p.m. As Tyler opened the window of the vehicle, officers detected a strong odor of cannabis. Further investigation revealed a duffle bag containing approximately $220,000.00 USC, 125 grams of cannabis and 85 grams of cocaine in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. Tyler was arrested and charged accordingly. No further information is available at this time.

This alert gives notice to citizens of the 006th District (Gresham) on Beats 613 & 614, between September 7, 2015 and September 15, 2015, an unknown male black offender approached victims, displayed a black/dark  handgun and demanded USC, Cellular Phones or anything of value.

This alert gives notice to the residents of the 16th District (Jefferson Park) of several residential and apartment burglaries that have occurred in the month of September. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) have entered apartments and residences through windows or doors and have taken electronics, jewelry, cash and other miscellaneous items.

On, September 15, 2015 at approximately 3:36 PM, an unknown White Hispanic Male attempted to lure (1) a juvenile female into his vehicle. The unknown male driving a WHITE VAN pulled up next to the female juvenile, and motioned with his hands for her to come over to his van. The unknown male then parked his vehicle next to the female juvenile. The unknown male drove away shortly after the juvenile’s parent arrived to pick her up from school. This incident occurred on the 4900 Block of South Karlov Ave.

Deon Tilman, 19 and Quinton Wiggins, 20 were arrested after they were identified as the offenders who attempted to rob a Chicago Police Officer. This incident occurred on 15 September 2015 at approximately 7:15 p.m. in the 8000 block of S. Homan Ave. During a narcotics investigation Tilman pointed a gun at a Narcotics Division officer. The officer, in fear of his life, fired at the offender but no one was struck. A brief foot chase ensued and Tilman was able to enter a waiting vehicle driven by Wiggins. Tilman and Wiggins were arrested and charged accordingly. A weapon was recovered during the incident. No further information is available at this time.

A Homicide occurred on September 14, 2015 at 12:43 am in the 108th Block of South Morgan. The home was then intentionally set on fire. The homeowner’s vehicle is missing. Missing is a 2004 Buick LeSabre. The vehicle has 4 doors and is black in color. It has an Illinois License Plate of V617710.
