Five recent armed robbery incidents have occurred in the 16th and 17th District. In these cases, a victim is approached from behind by 1 to 4 unknown offender(s). One offender displays a dark or silver colored handgun, while the other offender(s) takes property from the victim. The offender(s) fled the scene in a White Toyota Highlander four door SUV. The offenders take cell phones, wallets, and USC.

This alert gives notice to citizens in the 8th District (Chicago Lawn) of robbery incidents which have occurred during the month of September. In these incidents, the offender approaches the victim while near their vehicle and demands and forcibly removes their property.

Christopher Pratile was writ from Cook County Jail after he was identified as the man who robbed two persons on  separate occasions. The first incident occurred on 2 August 2015 at approximately 11:00 p.m. in the 2100 block of W. Huron. Pratile approached a 23 year old female, displayed a handgun and demanded victim’s purse and cellphone before fleeing. The second incident occurred on 9 August 2015 at approximately 5:00 p.m. in the 1600 block of W. Cortez Street. Pratile approached a 38 year old man, displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s wallet and cellphone. No injuries were reported during the incident. Pratile was charged accordingly.

015th District Officers and BUILD Chicago’s All-Star Team met at Moore Park in the Austin community to play a game of softball to encourage positive interaction through teamwork and sports. It was a win-win situation for the community and the officers.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 011th, 015th and 007th District’s (Area’s North and South) of robbery related incidents that have occurred during the month of September. In these incidents, the offender(s) used force or the threat of force by displaying a handgun, and taking cell phones, coats and vehicles from citizens on the street.

This alert gives notice to citizens of the 004th District (South Chicago) of a series of residential burglaries reported in the area extending from 96th Street south to 98th Street between Chappel and Crandon Avenues.  In each incident, the  offender(s) have made entry into residences via a rear or side window.

The Chicago Police Department has completed its comprehensive search of the Garfield park lagoon and recovered various items  which will be examined to determine if they are part of the investigation. No additional remains of the toddler were found.

On September 12, 2015, at approximately 8:08 p.m., a Sergeant along with two Chicago Police officers working “Operation Impact” observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the 6700 block of South Union. The vehicle quickly stopped and the officers were met by the female driver yelling “my baby, my baby” and observed the victim, a two year-old female in the vehicle unresponsive. The officers immediately took control of the situation with one of the officers checking the victim’s airway and performing the Heimlich Maneuver.
