CPD Community Alert – Robberies 9th District (Deering)
Near South Side Woman Charged with Murder
Caress Shumaker, 29, was arrested after she was identified as the person who fatally stabbed a 27-year-old man. This incident occurred on March 9, 2016, at approximately 8:40 p.m., in the 2100 block of S. Michigan Avenue. Shumaker was involved in a domestic-related altercation when she stabbed the victim in the chest. He was taken to Northwestern Hospital where he was later pronounced. Click here for more information.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 9th District (Deering) of burglary incidents which have occurred during the month of February/March. In these incidents, offender(s) gain entry into residences and take property from therein.
These incidents have occurred at various hours of the day in the general geographical locations listed below:

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 009th District (Deering) of burglary incidents which have occurred during the months of February/March. In these incidents, offender(s) gained entry into residences and took property from therein.
009th District Community Alert Robberies
CPD Community Alert- Armed Robberies in 22 (Morgan Park) District
This alert gives notice to residents of the Morgan Park (22nd) District, in the East Beverly neighborhood of two recent Armed Robbery incidents that occurred on February 25th & March 1st 2016. In both of these incidents, two unknown male offenders approach a male victim walking alone. The offenders either display a handgun or pretend they have one by placing their hand in their sweatshirt, and demand the victim’s property. These robberies occurred between the hours of 8:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
CPD Business Alert- Taxi Cab Robberies in 7th (Englewood) District
This alert gives notice to the community of recent robbery incidents involving similar circumstances. Between Feb 12, 2016 and Feb 18, 2016, on three occasions, taxi cabs arrived at locations in the 6600 block of South Honore and Wolcott, at which time the drivers were robbed at gun point.
