Narrative: Isaiah Scaife was arrested on January 2, 2017, at 6:50 am in the 14300 block of South Eggelston when tactical units placed him into custody, without incident, for having multiple investigative alerts. The offender is currently on parole and is a documented gang member.

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to businesses in the 009th District (Deering) of robbery incidents which have occurred during the month of December . In these incidents, the offender entered a restaurant and produced a handgun, demanding money from

the register. Incident times and locations are listed below:

5400 Block of South Kedzie on December 06, 2016 at approximately 8:40 p.m

2500 Block of West 51 st Street on December 27, 2016 at approximately 9:30 p.m.

About the Offenders:

One Male/Hispanic, 30-40 years of age, 5’04” to 5’07”, 160-200 lbs., black hair

What you can do:

Always be aware of your surroundings

Report suspicious activity immediately

If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm

Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth,

etc…)

Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police

Robbery CTA Redline (35th St)

About the Crime:

Area Central Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance regarding a strong-arm

robbery which occurred on 12 December 12, 2016 at approximately 1:00 a.m. on the

CTA Redline train. As the victim was on the train he was approached by the listed

offenders demanding his property. The offenders battered the victim, took the

victim’s property, and then fled the train.

Offenders are described as:

(3) Male/Black, 20-30 years of age, 5’08”-6’00”, 160-220 lbs., medium to dark

complexion.

Four Juveniles Charged in Multiple Armed Robberies

Narrative: Four juvenile males were taken into custody and charged after being positively identified as the offenders who committed an Armed Robbery on the 4000 block of S. Langley Ave. on
December 21, 2016 at 8:29 a.m. During this incident, the offenders pulled next to the 20- year-old male victim in a tan sedan as the victim was walking at which time 2 offenders exited and displayed a revolver while demanding the victim’s property. The victim cooperated and the offenders fled in the same vehicle. Responding officers located the vehicle traveling S/B on Dr. Martin Luther King Drive. at which time the offenders fled at a high rate of speed eventually striking a CTA bus at 43rd and LaSalle. All four offenders fled from the vehicle on foot but were taken into custody after brief foot chases. Four females on the bus (ages 58, 58, 59, 62) sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash and were taken to area hospitals in stable condition. A weapon was recovered inside of the offender’s vehicle which was reported stolen from Matteson, IL. A custodial search of the 17-year-old offender revealed prescription drugs that he did not have a prescription to possess and was therefore also charged with one felony count of PCS. Subsequent investigation revealed that all four offenders were responsible for four additional Armed Robberies which occurred in the 2nd District the morning of December 21, 2016. All four offenders were charged accordingly. No further information is available.

09 Dec 16- Charges for Olajuwon Claiborne

Claiborne was arrested after being identified as the offender who committed a Home Invasion on December 7, 2016 on the 5100 block of S. Long at approximately 11:52 a.m. During this incident, Claiborne entered into the home of a 94-year-old woman and battered the victim before taking her purse and fleeing the scene.

Incident times and locations are listed below:

5000 Block of South Justine Street on November 15, 2016 in the evening hours.

5400 Block of South Loomis Blvd. on December 4, 2016 in the evening hours.

 

About the Offenders:

Offender(s) are described as:

Four unknown male blacks, 18-24 years old.  5’05-6’00, 150-190lbs.  Three wearing black hoodies and one with a white hoodie.  One offender with dreadlocks.

On Dec 7, 2016 at 11:52am in the 5100 Block of South Long, a Female, 94, was followed into the hallway of her home by an unknown male black offender.  The offender grabbed the victim’s purse, battered the woman, and fled the scene with the purse.  The victim sustained facial injuries and was taken to Macneal Medical Center in stable condition.  A short time later, officers discovered an abandoned vehicle crashed in the alley of 5700 block of south archer.  Officers determined the vehicle was stolen and believe the offender of the robbery fled in the stolen vehicle. The offender is described as a male black, approx. 30 years old, with short black hair, beard, and a brown leather jacket. No one in custody and detectives continue to investigate the case.

About the Crime:

The offender followed a 94yr old female victim into her house where he battered her

and took her purse. The offender then fled the scene in a stolen vehicle, which he is

observed crashing and fleeing from at 5700 Block of S. Archer. The offender fled

eastbound on foot from the crash. The vehicle was reported stolen from the area of

6200 S Francisco Ave.

About the Offenders:

Detectives are seeking to identify one male black offender, approximately 25-35

years old, 6’00” tall, 200lbs, with a beard, and a brown leather jacket
